  • Enters his first season as a coach for Brooklyn and his first season in the Mets organization after retiring from his playing career following the 2018 season.
  • Played parts of 13 seasons in the Major Leagues with the Mets, Kansas City Royals, Montreal Expos,Washington Nationals, Philadelphia Phillies, Seattle Mariners, Texas Rangers and Baltimore Orioles.
  •  Began his career in the Minor Leagues with the Mets in 1997...Played three years in the Major Leagues with the Mets (2006-2008), appearing in 337 games...Made one of the most memorable catches in franchise history during Game Seven of the 2006 NLCS...Was traded prior to 2009 to Seattle in a package  for J.J. Putz.
  • Most recently, played in the independent Atlantic League with the Somerset Patriots in 2018,batting .287 (100-349) in 87 games.
  • His brother, Ender, played with the Cyclones in 2002 and 2003.
  • Won the Atlantic League Batting Title in 2016 when he hit .345 for the Bridgeport Bluefish.
