Aberdeen, MD – July 30, 2017 – The Brooklyn Cyclones lost their fifth game in a row as the Aberdeen IronBirds scored three runs in the final three innings and walked off BKLYN, 7-6.
In the bottom of the ninth, Ben Breazeale singled to left and brought home Kirvin Moesquit who scored the winning run. Two innings prior, Mason McCoy had one his three hits and his line drive hit pitcher Tony Dibrell. Dibrell overthrew the ball home and the two tying runs scored.
The Cyclones started the scoring in the top of the second. Franklin Correa recorded an RBI single to make it 1-0. The lead doubled when Cecilio Aybar singled and scored Correa. Quinn Brodey brought in Walter Rasquin with a groundball.
The ‘Birds offense kicked into high gear in the third. Trevor Craport, Moesquit, and Breazeale each recorded RBI and knotted the game at three. T.J. Nitching stole home on a pickoff throw to first to give Aberdeen the lead.
Brodey’s groundout scored Leon Byrd for his second RBI. Carl Stajduhar struck out swinging but a throwing error by Breazeale brought in Brodey. Jeremy Wolf doubled to right and made it 6-4.
BKLYN has two more games in Maryland before they return home to face Tri-City.
