For the second straight night, the Cyclones rallied in the late innings and beat the Lake Monsters on Wednesday by a score of 2-1. Brooklyn again trailed in the early part of the game, but came back in the seventh inning to take the lead and eventually shut the door on Vermont. The Cyclones have won three straight games and even up their record to (21-21).

3B Eric Campbell began the rally for the second straight game, as he walked and scored the tying run in the seventh inning. CF Kirk Nieuwenhuis had a pair of hits and an RBI.  Nieuwenhuis delivered the go-ahead RBI in the seventh to give the Cyclones the lead. Matt Smith, J.R. Voyles, Seth Williams, John Servidio and Jose Jimenez also added hits for the Cyclones.

RHP Jenry Mejia made his fifth start of year, and pitched five strong innings, allowing only one run. LHP Jimmy Johnson (4-0) kept the Cyclones in the game; he pitched three scoreless innings and struck out five batters to pick up his team-leading fourth win of the season. RHP Yury Santana earned his eighth save of the year as he came in the ninth and closed out the game for the Cyclones.  

Brooklyn concludes their series against Vermont on Thursday. The Cyclones will face the Yankees at home on Saturday, August 2nd and Monday, August 4th.  A limited number of Box and Field Box seats are still available for the cross-borough showdown
