GONZALEZ IS THE KING OF K's

While the 2016 Brooklyn Cyclones struggled offensively, Harol Gonzalez solidified his place as one of the best pitchers in the New York-Penn League, and one of the best in Cyclones franchise history. The 21-year-old righthander finished the season tops in the New York-Penn League with a 2.01 ERA, first in strikeouts with 88 and third in the league with seven wins.

It marked the fifth straight season that a Cyclones pitcher has led the NYPL in strikeouts, as Gonzalez joined Luis Mateo (2012 – 85), Miller Diaz (2013-87), Marcos Molina (2014 – 91), and Kevin Canelon (2015 – 70) during the five year reign of Strikeout Kings.

Gonzalez also ranked fourth all-time among Cyclones pitchers with his 88 punchouts behind Brad Holt (2008 – 96), Kevin Deaton (2002 – 93) and Marcos Molina (2014 – 91).
