Zach Lutz, who played for the Cyclones in 2007 and 2008, made his major league debut as a pinch hitter with the Mets on Tuesday, April 24th. He became the 36th former Cyclone to make it to the big leagues.
Lutz appeared as a pinch hitter with the bases loaded in the seventh inning and struck out in his lone at-bat. The 25-year-old was hitting .333 (21-63) with nine runs scored, five doubles, three home runs and 10 RBI in 19 games with Buffalo (AAA) prior to his promotion.
