The Cyclones had their win streak snapped on Wednesday, losing to the Doubledays by a score of 3-1. Brooklyn and Auburn were tied throughout most of the game, but the Doubledays broke the tied in the seventh inning and shut the Cyclones down for the rest of the game. With the loss, it brings Brooklyn’s record to (30-25).
RHP Scott Shaw made his 10th start of the year. Shaw pitched 5.1 solid innings, allowed a lone run and struck out five batters. LHP Matias Carrillo replaced Shaw and retired the only batter he faced. RHP Jeff Kaplan (2-2) came on for the remainder of the game, and gave up the two go-ahead runs of the game.
Offensively, Brooklyn managed just five hits. DH Jose Jimenez scored the lone run of the game and had a hit. LF Seth Williams also had a hit and drove in Jimenez in the 2nd inning. Voyles, Satin and Campbell had the rest of the hits.
The Cyclones return home on Friday, August 15th to start a series against Tri-City. On Friday, there will be Fireworks after the game, and the game is presented by Sovereign Bank.
