The Cyclones' winning streak was stopped at three on Saturday, thanks to a 4-1 loss to the Yankees. Brooklyn was victimized by three runs in the third inning, which proved to be the difference in the three-ruin ballgame.
Starting pitcher Pedro P. Martinez allowed four runs on seven hits, and was saddled with his second loss of the season. Jimmy Johnson (pictured, by George Napolitano)
came on in relief to pitch a scoreless final two frames, but the Cyclones could not mount a comeback.
The offense was held to just one run on seven hits. John Servidio and J.R. Voyles each notched two hits in the game, with Matt Smith, Ike Davis, and Jose Jimenez chipping in hits of their own.
The Cyclones return home to face the Yankees on Sunday, July 27 at 5 pm. The first 1,250 kids (14 and under) will receive a mini Sandy the Seagull bobblehead. It will also be Autism Awareness Night, Grandparents Day, season ticket holders will receive a team photo, kids will have the opportunity to run the bases after the game, and it will also be "the Cyclones Love Park Slope Night" at KeySpan Park.
