Later moved to Kingsport (R), placed third in batting average (.364), on base percentage (.457), and slugging percentage (.623). His last year in college for the Point Loma Sea Lions, Steinhauer hit .344 (62-for-180) scoring 34 runs, with nine doubles, and a team high 11 home runs, knocking in 39 runs.
