Amazins Sink Lake Monsters 12-3

CONEY ISLAND, NY (August 25, 2019) – Behind a season-high-tying 12 runs and 15 hits, the Brooklyn Amazins, the Short Season Class A affiliate of the New York Mets, toppled the Vermont Lake Monsters 12-3 Sunday afternoon in the series opener at MCU Park.

BIG MOMENTS

  • With the Cyclones leading 10-2, Kennie Taylor launched a solo home run off the video board in left center field to make it 11-2.
  • Wilmer Reyes went 2-5 with an RBI triple in the Cyclones’ three-run third inning, pushing the lead to 9-0.
  • Sending nine batters to the plate in the first inning, the Cyclones took a 5-0 lead. Ranfy Adon’s two-run single led the onslaught against Vermont starter Leudeny Pineda.
