CONEY ISLAND, NY (August 10, 2019) – Behind a sixth-inning rally, the Connecticut Tigers rallied to beat the Brooklyn Cyclones, the Short Season Class A affiliate of the New York Mets, 4-2 in the finale of a three-game set at MCU Park.

BIG MOMENTS

  • Connecticut rallied to take the lead, scoring twice in the top of the sixth against Brooklyn starter Frank Valentino. Connecticut’s Corey Joyce and Avery Tuck drove in back-to-back runs to give the Tigers a 4-2 edge.
  • Kona Quiggle pulled a solo home run down the right field line to give the Tigers a 2-1 lead in the top of the fourth.
  • Kennie Taylor launched a solo homer against Tigers starter Carson Lance in the bottom of the first, giving Brooklyn a 1-0 lead. Taylor’s homer traveled 396 feet to left field, coming off the bat at 103 mph.

  • Kennie Taylor went 6-13 during the three-game series with two doubles, a triple, and a home run. Taylor drove in four runs and reached base seven times in 14 trips to the plate.
  • With a seventh-inning hit, Jake Mangum has collected hits in 12 of his past 13 games.
