Cyclones Tame the Tigers in Extras

 

CONEY ISLAND, NY (August 8, 2019) Luke Ritter’s bunt attempt turned into a victory as the Brooklyn Cyclones, the Short Season Class A affiliate of the New York Mets, walked off the Connecticut Tigers 3-2 in 10 innings Thursday night at MCU Park in the series opener.

BIG MOMENTS

 

  •  The Cyclones scored on an error in the bottom of the 10th to walk off the Tigers, 3-2. With the tying run at second base, Luke Ritter bunted towards the mound. Raul De Los Reyes fielded the ball, throwing it wildly towards third up the line which allowed Yoel Romero to score from second.
  • Brooklyn rallied for a pair of runs in the home half of the fifth, scoring on a wild pitch and Wilmer Reyes’ sacrifice fly against Tigers starter Marco Jimenez.
  • Ahead 1-0 in the third, Connecticut’s Ryan Kreidler homered against Michel Otañez to push the Tigers’ lead to 2-0.
