CONEY ISLAND, NY (July 23, 2019) – Behind a five-run first inning the Brooklyn Cyclones, the Short Season Class A affiliate of the New York Mets, defeated the Tri-City ValleyCats 9-2 Wednesday night to even the three-game series at MCU Park.

BIG MOMENTS

  • Brooklyn rallied for five runs in the bottom of the first, capping the onslaught with Jose Peroza’s two-run homer. The blast marks Peroza’s first Brooklyn blast.
  • Mitch Ragan and Dan Goggin combined for 4 1/3 innings of one hit relief.
  • Frank Valentino did not receive a decision but struck out five over 4 2/3 innings, allowing two runs on two hits and two walks.
