Cyclones "Walk" Away With a Win in CT


 

 

NORWICH, CT (July 20, 2019) – Wilmer Reyes slammed a two-run home run and back in his home state of Connecticut, Matt Cleveland tossed five strong innings en route to victory as the Brooklyn Cyclones, the Short Season Class A affiliate of the Brooklyn Cyclones, stumped the Connecticut Tigers 6-1 Saturday night at Dodd Stadium.

BIG MOMENTS

  • Matt Cleveland allowed one unearned run over five innings en route to his second consecutive victory, yielding five hits and two walks with one strikeout. The Windsor, CT native induced a double play in the fifth to end his outing.
  • Wilmer Reyes went 2-6 with an RBI single in Brooklyn’s four-run fifth inning to take the lead. He blasted his third Cyclones home run in the eighth, driving a two-run home run 385 feet over the left field wall.
  • Josh Hejka made his Cyclones debut, retiring all four batters he faced.
