BROOKLYN, NY (August 9, 2018) – Behind Christian James’ seven shutout frames, Los Brooklyn Jefes, the Short Season, Class A affiliate of the New York Mets, edged the Connecticut Tigers 2-0 Thursday night at MCU Park in the middle game of a three-game set.

BIG MOMENTS

  • Christian James spun a career-high seven innings of three-hit ball en route to his third victory of the season, striking out four along the way. James retired the final 10 batters he faced.
  • Carlos Cortes banged a solo home run down the right field line against Connecticut starter Carlos Guzman in the fourth inning, providing Brooklyn’s lone run.
  • Rehabber Eric Hanhold tossed a scoreless eighth inning, striking out one. Tommy Wilson earned his first professional save with a run-free ninth.
