Brooklyn Puts Bagels on the Board To Sweep Two

BROOKLYN, NY (July 22, 2018) –  The Brooklyn Cyclones, the Short Season, Class A affiliate of the New York Mets defeated the Lowell Spinners 3-2 and 4-0 Sunday afternoon at MCU Park to conclude the three-game series.

BIG MOMENTS

  • Ross Adoph’s sacrifice fly against Hunter Haworth in the sixth broke a tie, giving the Cyclones a 3-2 lead.
  • Nick Meyer tied the game at 2-2 with an RBI single in the fifth.
  • Trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the second, Carlos Cortes singled in a run to put Brooklyn on the board.

  • Jaison Vilera twirled 5 2/3 scoreless innings en route to the victory. The righty struck out five, allowing five hits and three walks.
  • Walter Rasquin’s RBI groundout opened the scoring in the third, making it 1-0 Brooklyn. He added a run-scoring single in the fifth, pushing the advantage to 3-0.
