Brooklyn quieted by Lowell's Pantoja in 3-1 loss

BROOKLYN, NY (July 20, 2018) – Lowell southpaw Yorvin Pantoja spun five scoreless innings as the Brooklyn Cyclones, the Short Season, Class A affiliate of the New York Mets, dropped Friday night’s series opener 3-1 to the Lowell Spinners at MCU Park.

BIG MOMENTS

  • Lowell’s Yorvin Pantoja tossed five scoreless innings of one-hit ball with four walks, striking out one. Pantoja retired five of the final six batters he faced en route to the victory.
  • Manny Rodriguez’s RBI double cut the deficit to 3-1 in the seventh against Spinners reliever Rio Gomez.
  • Leading 1-0 into the fourth, Lowell’s Tyler Esplin homered off of the scoreboard in left field to push the lead to 2-0. Grant Williams’ run-scoring single.
