SPINNERS COMPLETE THE SWEEP, DOWN BKLYN 4-0

BROOKLYN, NY – July 16, 2016 — For the second time in three nights, the Cyclones were shutout as the Lowell Spinners completed a three-game sweep thanks to a 4-0 win on Saturday night at MCU Park.

Lowell collected the first run of the game in the top of the second when Victor Acosta reached base on a ground ball to left field. Acosta was moved over to second on a fielder’s choice before Carlos Tovar stroked an RBI-single to center field to give the Spinners an early 1-0 lead.

Nabil Crismatt (0-1) started on the mound for the Cyclones for the third time this season. The righthanded pitcher allowed two runs on 6.0 hits without a walk while striking out five.

The game would remain 1-0, as the teams traded zeros for three innings before the Spinners added to their lead courtesy of a Tyler Hill solo blast to lead off the top of the sixth inning that made it 2-0.

Adam Atkins entered in relief for Crismatt in the top of the seventh inning and allowed a pair of unearned runs to extend the Spinners lead to 4-0, which is how the game would end.
