Brooklyn was out hit 10-3. Those three hits came off the bats of Stefan Sabol, Alex Sanchez, and Eudy Pina.
The lone Brooklyn run was scored when Stefan Sabol hit a two-out line drive double to left field. Kevin Plawecki, who had walked to reach first, scored on the play. Alex Sanchez then grounded out to third to end the inning and strand Sabol in scoring position.
Dreily Guerrero led off the bottom half of the frame with a single, however, was caught stealing second with David Chester at bat. Chester then hit a home run to left to tie the game at 1-1. The Lake Monsters kept things going, as the next batter, Mookie Betts singled on a line drive to center. Following, Matthew Marquis homered on a fly ball to left, giving Lowell a two-run advantage.
Brooklyn starting pitcher Luis Cessa suffered his third loss, throwing 6.0 innings and allowing three earned runs off seven hits. Cessa walked one and struck out three. Working in relief, Matthew Bowman tossed the final 2.0 frames, holding the Spinners to three hits.
Lowell reliever Jacob Dahlstrand picked up the win for the Lake Monsters. He allowed just the one earned run off three hits with two walks and three strikeouts over 5.0 innings. Braden Kapteyn collected his fourth save, pitching 2.0 hitless innings. Kapteyn walked one and fanned four batters.
