Lowell, MA – August 7th - Gabriel Ynoa led the Cyclones to their seventh shutout victory of the year as they topped the Lowell Spinners 1-0. Ynoa had his longest outing of the year, tossing 7.0 innings without allowing a run, giving up three hits and striking out eight batters while walking none. Paul Sewald came out of the bullpen and was perfect for two innings to close out the game and collect his third save of the year.  Brooklyn pitchers have now allowed just two runs in their last five games.

In the fourth inning with one out, Jayce Boyd came up and crushed a hanging curveball over the left field wall for his second professional home run. This would be the lone run of the game as the Cyclones won the first of a three game series 1-0.

Paul Sewald pitched the eighth and ninth inning and continued his dominance over the New York-Penn League as he has yet to allow a run in his professional career. This was the 11th game of the season for Sewald, totaling 19.2 innings surrendering only 12 hits and striking out 21 batters.

The Brooklyn Cyclones will take on the Lowell Spinners tomorrow at 7:00 PM as Luis Mateo looks for his fifth win and the Cyclones fifth victory in a row. On Friday, August 10th the Cyclones will return to MCU Park to take on the Vermont Lake Monsters for a three-game home stand.
