The Cyclones' offense never got going on Friday, as Brooklyn (44-29) lost to Lowell (43-29) by a score of 8-2 on Friday night. Brooklyn lost despite another solid outing by starting pitcher Brandon Moore (6-2). Moore (pictured, by George Napolitano) tossed 5.0 innings, allowing just one run on five hits, with three strikeouts, lowering his ERA for the season to 2.09.
Unfortunately, even with Carlos Beltran's presence in centerfield, the Cyclones' offense was held in check. Brooklyn managed five hits against the Spinners, two of which were from DH Ralph Henriquez. The Cyclones scored their only two runs on a two-run home run off the bat of RF Nick Santomauro in the seventh inning. Beltran went 0-for-3 with a ground out and two fly outs in his third rehab start for the Cyclones.
The Cyclones face off against the Spinners again on Saturday, September 5th. The first 2,500 fans in attendance will receive Brooklyn Cyclones Poker Chips, presented by Caesars Atlantic City.
