EBBETS FIELD'S 100th ANNIVERSARY TICKETS SOLD OUT

  • UPDATE:  The discounted $1.50 tickets are sold out.  Single game tickets will go on sale on May 11th.

Brooklyn, NY – April 2 – Tuesday, April 9th will mark the 100th anniversary of the first game played at historic Ebbets Field, storied home of the Brooklyn Dodgers. To commemorate this occasion, the Brooklyn Cyclones – the first professional sports franchise in the borough since the Dodgers headed west – will put a limited number of box seats on sale for their Ebbets Field Centennial Celebration on August 29th, for just $1.50. The price is the same as the cost of a box seat to see Brooklyn take on the Philadelphia Phillies on April 9, 1913, a game the Phillies won by the score of 1-0.

These tickets will be available EXCLUSIVELY through BrooklynCyclones.com starting at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, April 9th, while supplies last. (Only 600 box seats will be made available)

“The Cyclones are proud to be part of the long and illustrious history of baseball in Brooklyn,” said Cyclones General Manager Steve Cohen. “It is because of this connection that we feel obligated to continue to tell the story of Ebbets Field and the Brooklyn Dodgers to the newest generation of Brooklyn baseball fans. From Casey Stengel, Branch Rickey, and Leo Durocher to Pee Wee Reese, Jackie Robinson, Sandy Koufax and Duke Snider, Ebbets Field was the mecca of Brooklyn baseball, and we need to keep its memory alive.”

For the game on August 29th, the Cyclones will be wearing uniforms inspired by the home uniforms of the 1913 Brooklyn Dodgers, and the first 3,000 fans in attendance will receive replicas of these jerseys as well. The game will also have a distinct early 20th century feel with the public address announcer replaced by barkers with megaphones on the dugout, traditional pop music will give way to organ music, and all advertisements will be shown in black and white.

The Home Opener for the 2013 Brooklyn Cyclones season is Tuesday, June 18th. Tickets start at just $9 and will be on sale in the coming weeks. Season, partial season and group packages are currently available by calling 718-382-2600 or visiting www.BrooklynCyclones.com.
