Edwin Donald "Duke" Snider was born in Los Angeles, California in 1926 but was and forever will be considered one of Brooklyn's favored sons. Nicknamed "The Duke of Flatbush," Snider played with the Dodgers from 1947-1962 and was a key member of the 1955 team that won Brooklyn's only World Series championship. The eight-time all-star, two time world series champion and National Baseball Hall-of-Famer returned to Brooklyn in 2002 for the Opening of the Brooklyn Baseball Gallery at MCU Park.
