The Cyclones got their second walk-off victory in four games, this time with 1B Ike Davis (pictured, by George Napolitano) delivering the heroics on a game-winning single.  The fans at KeySpan Park had to endure a rain delay to start the game for the third straight day, but the 52-minute wait was well worth it.  SS Reese Havens, a first round pick (22nd overall) from the University of South Carolina, also made his long-awaited debut for Brooklyn, starting at DH and batting second.

Davis led the way for the Cyclones with three hits, extending his hitting streak to five games, equaling the number of games he has played.  SS Matt Bouchard, 3B Eric Campbell, and 2B Zach Lutz all notched two hits each for the Cyclones.  Bouchard left the game in the bottom of the third after legging out an infield single, and was replaced by Brandon Richey, who hit a double of his own and scored two runs.  Campbell was able to make his hits count as well, stroking two RBI singles to left field from the cleanup spot in the order.  LF Sean Ratliff broke a 3-3 tie in the eighth inning with an RBI triple to left-center, while Lutz drove in Ratliff by stroking an RBI single to center.

RHP Scott Shaw was sharp in his second start for Brooklyn, despite giving up his first runs of the season.  Shaw worked five innings, allowing two runs on just two hits with four strikeouts.  RHP Chris Schwinden relieved Shaw, and pitched two shutout innings while registering four strikeouts.  Schwinden was followed by LHP Jimmy Johnson, and Johnson was followed by RHP Yury Santana, who picked up his first win of the season for Brooklyn, despite blowing the save when he allowed his first hits and runs of the year.

The Cyclones travel to Hudson Valley on Tuesday and then take on Williamsport for a three game series before they return home on Saturday, July 5 at 6 pm to face the Mahoning Valley Scrappers.  On Saturday, the first 1,250 kids (14 and under) will receive a 28-inch wooden bat.  It will also be Backwards Night at KeySpan Park, os ekam erus uoy emoc tuo dna troppus eht senolcyC!

And since Darryl Strawberry had so much fun at Monday's game, he decided to return on Saturday to sign FREE autographs starting at 5 pm.  Get your tickets at and get here early on July 5th!
