Earlier today, the Mets announced that Dillon Gee will be making his third Major League Rehabilitation start with the Brooklyn Cyclones when they take on the Aberdeen IronBirds at MCU Park on Friday, July 4th.  Gee, who was the Opening Day starter for the New York Mets earlier this season, began his career as a member of the Brooklyn Cyclones during the 2007 season.

The righthander was 3-1 with a 2.73 ERA (16 ER / 52.2 IP) in eight starts prior to being placed on the Disabled List on May 14th with a right lat strain.  He made his first rehabiliation start earlier this week with the GCL Mets, tossing two scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out two, in Jupiter, FL.

"Brooklyn and MCU Park is a great environment to pitch in," Gee said. "Being there back in 2007 was one of the best experiences of my career.  I'm excited to get back on the mound in front of the Brooklyn fans, but more excited to take another step towards rejoining the Mets and being able to help us win on the major league level."

Gee, who was originally selected in the 21st round of the MLB Draft, began his playing career with the Brooklyn Cyclones during the 2007 season.  He went 3-1 with a 2.47 ERA (17 ER / 62.0 IP) in 14 games, 11 starts.  On August 4, 2011, Dillon's uniform number 20 was the fourth honored number added to the fourth floor of MCU Park.

The Cyclones will take on the Aberdeen IronBirds (Baltimore Orioles) on Friday with first pitch set for 6:00 PM.  Tickets, which start at just $10, are on sale now by calling 718-507-TIXX, visiting the MCU Park Box Office, or at BrooklynCyclones.com.  Be sure to stick around after the game and enjoy a MASSIVE Fourth of July Fireworks show from the comfort of your own seat.
