The Brooklyn Cyclones are proud to announce an all-new partnership with 89.5 WSOU – Seton Hall University Radio, as the team’s new flagship station for game broadcasts during the 2012 season. WSOU will air Opening Day and all 38 Cyclones road games over the airwaves on 89.5 FM, while streaming the entire 76-game season (and any playoff games) at

With a 2,400-watt signal broadcast from the University’s South Orange campus, WSOU reaches all five boroughs of New York City and much of northern and central of New Jersey. That means that for the first time in more than a decade, Cyclones fans from Hoboken to Howard Beach, and Bergen County to Bay Ridge will be able to hear every Cyclones road game on their FM dial.

“We are thrilled to be able to offer our fans a more traditional radio experience this season,” Cyclones General Manager Steve Cohen said. “In the past, our radio broadcasts were not as readily available to our fan base. Through this new opportunity with WSOU, fans will have access to Cyclones baseball like never before.”

WSOU was named a top five rock station by Rolling Stone and received numerous honors, including a Peabody Award, College Station of the Year, Heavy Metal Station of the Year, and Best Play-By-Play. The station is also carried on the IHeartRadio application for all smart phones.

As part of this new relationship with Seton Hall University’s WSOU, there will be a trio of seasoned broadcasters affiliated with the network, who will call the action for the Brooklyn Cyclones this season. David Rind, Vincent Coughlin and Chris Paizis, who have called Seton Hall Pirate baseball games for the station, will serve as the play-by-play crew for all the Cyclones action on the diamond in 2012.

“With the unexpected passing of Warner Fusselle earlier this week, we knew that there would be a hole in our broadcast that no individual could fill,” Cyclones GM Steve Cohen stated. “But based on Warner’s history as the play-by-play announcer for Seton Hall Basketball, and his affinity for helping up-and-coming broadcasters get started in the business, we thought this was a perfect match. Plus, we all know that Warner was doing the work of at least three men during his years as the Voice of the Cyclones.”

WSOU has been the launching point for a number of careers in sports broadcasting, including ESPN’s Bob Ley and New Jersey Devils play-by-play announcer Matt Loughlin.

“We are excited to be partnering with the Brooklyn Cyclones for their 2012 season,” says WSOU General Manager Mark Maben. “It fits perfectly with our mission to both serve the local community and create experiential-learning opportunities for Seton Hall students.”

The Brooklyn Cyclones begin their 2012 season on Monday, June 18th against the Staten Island Yankees. That game will be able to be heard on WSOU as well as . All game broadcasts will start 10 minutes before scheduled first pitch.
