Every Friday we will announce the finalists for the Cyclones Mobile Player of the Week. After fan voting, the player with the highest total will be announced on Monday morning. Then, one lucky fan who voted for the winning entry will receive a special prize courtesy of the Brooklyn Cyclones. This week's winner will receive a signed photo of former Cyclone and current New York Mets first baseman Ike Davis.
Here's a look at the finalists for the second week of the season:
For BRANDON BROWN - Text A to 51684 - The Cyclones infielder has filled in for the injured J.B. Brown and exceded all expecations. The Cantonment, FL native hit safely in six of the seven games this week while hitting three home runs, including two in Brooklyn's win over the Hudson Valley Renegades on June 25th.
For JAVIER RODRIGUEZ - Text B to 51684 - Tied the franchise record with six-RBI on June 30th at Hudson Valley. The 21-year-old has six extra base hits in his last seven games and ranks among the NYPL League Leaders in doubles.
For CHRIS HILLIARD - Text C to 51684 - Won both of his starts over the last week and is currently 3-0 with a 2.93 ERA to start the season. The southpaw has gone at least 5.0 innings in each outing and has 13 wins in a Cyclones uniform overall.
For RICHARD LUCAS - Text D to 51684 - Perhaps no Cyclone has gotten off to a better start than Richard Lucas. He has reached base safely in each of his 12 games to start the season ans is hitting .304 (13-46) to begin the year.
